Blast From The Past

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I met up with a girl I literally haven’t seen since 9th grade and had such a blast and we caught up like we just saw each other the other day. Pretty cool. Could always use friends like that. :) We met up at some ranky bar on the outskirts, it blew so we headed pretty quickly next door @ the Ranch House for a lil country and I walk in and just was floored! I haven’t been there in over … well I know I wasn’t a legal adult the last time I was there….forgot about this place and definitely comin back. I heard it was called a country cougar den on the weekends..haha..anywho.. This guy comes up to us, Joe D. Darnell as he introduces himself. This 95 year old man, who tries his hardest to convince us he’s some famous dude on the west coast. Well, whatever…he’s nice and we dance a few times… *ahem* I mean, we stroll….cuz old folks are like that…. haha Well Brittany found this video the other day…

Oh and the band, The Pony Express (of course we were introduced by Joe D), played a Gary Allan song for me. *drool* THANK YOU JONATHAN!  Only 67 more days until My Mom, Brit, Helane n I drive up to to Yankee town to see Mr Allan himself!

Kenny Chesney Concert – Something Sexy About The Rain

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Well, I guess it does rain here. We headed over to Gloria’s to wait out the storm and next thing you know we’re in a tornado watch with chairs blowing around outside. Not being scared (if you can name 5 Texas meteorologists like I can, you would know we are ALWAYS under a tornado watch), we get some food and have some crazy $$$ Ritas. heh.. Never again. Next time, y’all can come on over. The sun came out (it really just got less cloudy) and we head over to the field and find a great spot to start meeting people. We meet some girls and had them pull their truck up and link up their hatch to ours (great idea..yup it was mine) . The rain started pounding and we just kept goofing off in the cars. Deena ran into a nearby building to go to the bathroom and came back telling us she hid the toilet paper for later when the rest is all gone). We sound like pros. We hear Sugarland canceled (we decided they’re not from Texas and the thought of a tornado watch scared them), and decided to head into the arena in case they push Kenny’s timeslot up. Once in, the rain just pounds and it gets cold. We had a good time movin around the place and saw Kenny sing a few songs before they declared the torrential rain made the stage unstable and canceled. We talked about making “I’ve survived the Kenny Chesney Tornado Watch Party” shirts and wearing them at the makeup concert (rumors are that it will be inside). I’ll tell you what though, anyone that is willing to sing a few songs in the rain is cool with me…maybe he’s not too urban cowboy. ;)

Found these videos on the net. He changed up his lineup and sang “Something Sexy About The Rain” HA!

Looking at all those people soaked to the bone, having the time of their life through all that weather, all I saw was a lot of heart and a lot of passion for what we – all of us, me and them – were doing,” Chesney said. “If that’s not sexy, that being there through some really nasty weather, because they’d come to have a good time and nothing was going to stop them. So you wanna do something really special that marks this moment you’ve just shared, and “Something Sexy About The Rain” seemed the perfect song for the moment. – Chesney
